  On Saturday, May 3, Shipshewana will host the fourth annual Mayfest Road & Trail 4 mile run as part of if its annual Mayfest celebration. A 1-mile non-competitive walk and a 1-mile fun-run for kids ages 13 and under will also be held in conjunction with the road and trail race. Participants of all ages are welcome.

  This year’s courses are designed to take participants past Shipshewana’s most well-known landmarks and businesses. The 4 mile race will also include several different running surfaces including asphalt, grass and trails. Runners will make their way through a covered bridge and run along a ½ mile stretch of the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail.

  All adult participants will be eligible to win randomly drawn door prizes following the race. Each kid participating in the 1 mile fun-run will receive a free pretzel token from Jo Jo’s Pretzels and be eligible to win a brand new bicycle from Union Cycle Works. Cash prizes of $100, $50, and $25 will be given to the top three male and female runners in the four-mile race. Cost on race day is $15 for the 4-mile run and $10 for the 1-mile walk and 1-mile kid’s fun run.

 Proceeds will be donated to the Northern Indiana Compassion Pregnancy Center.
